Our world-class medical jets and crews are accustomed to the complexities of providing long-distance medical flight transports, completing more than 18,000 missions in all 50 states, over 150 countries and 6 continents.

 

Multiple Levels of Medical Care Available on Every AirMed Transport

LEVEL I: A specially trained Physician, one ICU-trained Registered Nurse and a Respiratory Therapist (in some cases a Nurse Practitioner may replace the Physician, and a second Registered nurse may replace the Respiratory Therapist on the three person team)

LEVEL II: A specially trained physician and an ICU-trained Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist (in some cases a Nurse Practitioner may replace the Physician)  

LEVEL III: Two ICU trained Registered Nurses or one ICU-trained Registered Nurse and a Respiratory Therapist

 

Our jets are equipped with:

Isolette and Mother Inside Airmed Hawker
  • ECG Monitor with hands-free/pacer/defibrillator
  • Monitor with the following capabilities:
    • ECG
    • pulse oximetry
    • invasive pressures monitoring
    • end-tidal CO2
    • non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP)
    • temperature
  • Transport ventilator & back up ventilator
  • Infusion pump(s)
  • ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation). This highly specialized equipment is available for selected transports.
  • Handheld Blood Analyzer for selected electrolyte and blood gas values
  • Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
  • Fetal heart monitor
  • Toco monitor
 

Custom AirMed Stretcher and Base

  • Electrical: multiple 115 vac/60hz outlets powered by dual 1000 watt AC inverters
  • Medical Gas System includes:
    • Oxygen, 20 to 30 liter liquid systems on long-range aircraft (equivalent up to 25,000 gaseous liters with adjustable pressure capabilities)
    • EE-Carbon Fiber Tank = 1360 Gaseous liters on short-range aircraft
    • MM-Cylinder = 3400 Gaseous Liters
    • Air, supplied by dual compressors, joined to a common reservoir, providing continuous pressure of 50 psi
    • Vacuum, supplied by suction pumps, maintaining adequate suction for varied functions

Certifications

Our medical teams also hold board certifications in CFRN (Certified Flight Registered Nurse) or CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) We are proud to have this as one of AirMed’s standards to provide the highest clinical care.
