Denise M. Treadwell

CRNP, MSN, CEN, CFRN, CMTE
President

Denise M. Denise Treadwell, AirMed’s President, is responsible for managing daily operations of the company. Having been with the company for more than 23 years, she has held many leadership roles throughout the organization. Ms. Treadwell has been part of the Health Care community for nearing 30 years and still practices as a clinician.

Ms. Treadwell has designed and managed successful global solutions for some of the most complex international healthcare communities. She has overseen operations covering the United States and in foreign locations such as Hong Kong, Beijing China, and Singapore.

Ms. Treadwell holds several advanced degrees including Masters Degrees in Trauma Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama. She is a certified Nurse Practitioner and obtained her Master of Business Administration with an International Business Specialty from Louisiana State University Shreveport.

As an editor, Ms. Treadwell lent her expertise to several books, most recently the “Standards for Critical Care and Specialty Transport”. She is also a contributing author for many industry publications and currently holds board positions with both CAMTS and AAMS and is a graduate in good standing with the Medical Transport Leadership Institute.

Darby Wix

Vice President of Aviation Operations

Darby Darby Wix is responsible for the overall management of the flight, maintenance and aircraft dispatch departments. He started with AirMed in 1998 and has operated aircraft in over 85 countries on 6 continents. Darby is current, qualified and maintains Check Airman authority in the Hawker 800 and BeechJet 400A. He holds an undergraduate degree from Auburn University in Aviation Management.

Brandon Bates

Sr. Director, Global Strategy & Partner Relations

Brandon

Mr. Bates is responsible for business development and marketing, companywide, at AirMed International as well as securing and managing key partnerships and executing brand strategies. Brandon joined AirMed in August 2005 as Account Executive for the AirMed membership program and served as Director of Membership Sales for the organization from 2009-2013.

Brandon holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration and has successfully lead initiatives targeted at developing new market growth and brand recognition during his tenure at AirMed. He is actively involved in the air medical transport community as a member of AAMS, USTIA, THIA, and ITIC and regularly participates in panel discussions and industry committees.

As a Birmingham native he remains involved with civil organizations in the local community and is an active alumnus of Birmingham-Southern College and Samford University. Mr. Bates takes much pride in ensuring AirMed delivers on its mission of providing the highest quality of care to its customer’s while ensuring compassion and integrity.

Amber Payne-Gregory

RN, MBA, CFRN, CMTE
Director of Medical Operations

Amber Amber is a seasoned Emergency Medicine and Flight Nurse having been in Nursing for 20 years, 15 years of that time has been in the Air Medical industry. Her previous experience prior to AirMed has been in the Emergency Department as a Charge Nurse as well as Senior Flight Nurse and Clinical Base Educator with Air Methods, Corporation. She was also in Leadership with Omniflight Helicopters as a Regional Educator. She is an instructor in BLS, ACLS and PALS . She has also presented at the local, state and national level in continuing education conferences for Emergency Nurses, Pre-Hospital Providers and other Healthcare Providers. Amber has also been a contributor in textbooks from ASTNA, “Critical Care Transport Curriculum” and “Standards for Critical Care and Specialty Transport”. Amber is currently an Officer with the Alabama State Council of Emergency Nurses Association.

Amber started with AirMed in August of 2014 as a Clinical Coordinator. During that time, she completed her MBA with a Healthcare Concentration from Auburn University and was named the Director of Medical Operations in May 2015. With a strong clinical background to accompany the advanced business degree, Amber brings a broad level of expertise and opinion to manage the Medical Operations at AirMed International.

Drayton Green

Director of Finance

Drayton Drayton Green serves as the Director of Finance for AirMed International. He is responsible for the financial operations and analysis for the company. He is also responsible for implementing key strategic financial decisions and evaluating acquisition opportunities. He joined AirMed in April 2019 with over 10 years of various financial management experience.
 
His career includes diverse leadership roles in the healthcare, real estate, mining, and consulting industries. Prior to joining AirMed, he spent five years with a publicly traded healthcare REIT focused on the acquisition and development of hospitals across the United States and Western Europe. He was directly involved in the evaluation and integration of more than $6 billion in assets during his tenure, including multiple properties in Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
 
As a seasoned finance professional, his experience includes international business evaluation, public company reporting, and operations management during periods of rapid growth. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama. His goal is to ensure a financially sound enterprise capable of providing high quality clinical care while pursuing additional growth opportunities.
 

Timothy Mau

Corporate Maintenance Director

Timothy As the Director of Maintenance Tim is responsible for Aviation Maintenance for AirMed.  He is responsible for certificate and aircraft regulatory compliance.  Tim is involved in acquisitions, completions, certificate additions and as a sounding board for the AirMed Maintenance personnel.  Tim has experience as a Part 135 Director of Maintenance for several operators, as a field support representative, a maintenance manager, and an aircraft technician.  Tim has been a lifelong member of the aviation community being born into an aviation family.  Tim is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University; he holds an A&P license with Inspection Authorization and is a seaplane rated private pilot.  Tim has over 30 years maintenance experience on a broad range of fixed wing aircraft.

Josh Decker

Director of Membership Sales, Large Accounts

Josh Decker joined AirMed International in September of 2014. He works closely with the local leadership team in Birmingham to promote and support AirMed membership initiatives.

Holding a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University, Josh comes to AirMed with an extensive background in sales and customer relationship management. Josh’s primary focus at AirMed is establishing, growing, and managing large accounts. Josh was born and raised in Birmingham, AL where he currently resides with his wife, Jaclyn.

Bobby R. Lewis

MD, DMD
Medical Director

Bobby R.

Dr. Lewis is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, in the department of Emergency Medicine. He holds Board certifications by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Lewis was a flight physician on the first rotor wing service established in Alabama by Carraway Hospital, Alabama Lifesaver. He stays active in the American College of Emergency Physicians and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Council of Motorsport Sciences. Dr. Lewis serves as both an IndyCar Physician as well as the Nascar Physician primarily functioning at Barber’s Motorsports and Talladega Superspeedway. Dr. Lewis has presented numerous lectures over the course of his career that enhance the knowledge of Emergency Medicine, Medical Evaluation of Dental Patients, SCUBA Diving Emergencies, Hyperbaric Medicine and the use of Air Transport in Motorsports.

Dr. Lewis has proven to be an asset to the AirMed International team and helps advance the industry of Air Medical Transport.

Steven C. McNeely, Ph.D.

Director of Safety and Security

Dr. Steven C. McNeely earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, Aviation Business Management from the School of Business Technology and Management, Northcentral University, and a Master of Business Administration in Aviation, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Since 2000, Dr. McNeely has been an adjunct Associate Professor for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the John Massey School of Business, Aviation Sciences Institute, Assistant Professor providing instruction in graduate business, safety, and aeronautical sciences. He has over 40 years’ experience in aviation, and held the position as the Director of Safety and Quality Assurance for Era Helicopters, L.L.C. Primary responsibilities are safety and quality assurance, to include accident investigation.

Dr. McNeely has formal training in aviation accident investigation through Embry Riddle and the Southern California Safety Institute. He has participated and led several incident and accident investigations.  Dr. McNeely previously held positions as Manager of Safety Management Systems for Jet Solutions, L.L.C., and Manager of Safety for Jet Domain, LLC.  Previous Chairman of the National Aviation Transportation Association’s Safety and Security Committee, and with the Air Charter Safety Foundation, on the Industry Audit Working Group. Dr. McNeely participated as a member on the Operations and Training working group, FAA Safety Management System (SMS) Aviation Rule Making Committee (ARC). Dr. McNeely has lectured and presented safety management material for the FAA Safety Management Systems (SMS) Focus Group on several occasions. Dr. McNeely is a published author on Aviation Internal Evaluation Programs (IP). Previous positions include Conformity Inspector, and Maintenance Analyst. His military career covers 22 years in the United States Air Force, and four years in the United States Navy.  Dr. McNeely has held positions as a manager of a heavy maintenance facility, flightline maintenance superintendent, quality assurance, maintenance standardization evaluation team  member, supervisor of repair shops, and as an aircraft mechanic. Dr. McNeely earned a B.S. and A.S. degrees in Professional Aeronautics, as well as an A.A.S. in Aircraft Aerospace Accessory Systems Technology, with minors in Aviation Safety and Aircraft Maintenance Management. Current FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic. Dr. McNeely is a member of the System Safety Society and the American Society for Quality.

Donna McLean

Operational Excellence Program Director

Donna Donna joined AirMed International in February of 2019. She is responsible for managing the company’s Operational Excellence Program, which encompasses regulatory compliance as well as monitoring the key risk areas, internal and external audit requirements, and quality metrics for the organization. She has been in a variety of Compliance, Technical Writing, Program Management, and Training roles throughout her career.

Donna’s degree is a Bachelor of Computer Science with a minor in Canadian Literature, obtained from the University of Windsor. She has also obtained her Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE), and her Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) designations. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cross-stitching, watching NASCAR, visiting family in her native Ontario, and spending time with her husband Brad.
